Dr. Matthew Glover Addo is the Head of the Environmental Science Department at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. ISA Lille had the pleasure of welcoming him for a faculty training in November 2017 within the framework of our Erasmus+ KA107 project. Here is his feedback on the experience:
Being one of the Faculty members to visit ISA-Lille on the ticket of the Erasmus + mobility (training) was wonderful and fulfilling.
The training gave me the opportunity to meet and share ideas with some Faculty members of ISA-lille on administration at the Faculty, innovative pedagogy, cultural exchanges and afforded me the chance to interact with our students on the Erasmus 3+2 programme as the Head of the Environmental Science Department.
Meeting with Betrand Pourrut, Environmental Science professor, and the head of the Food Science department Pierre Vandendriessche where they shared with me their duties, and took me round the Faculty and others, I learnt a lot from them in the areas of (i) integration of management into their programmes, (ii) professional partnership, (iii) involvement of industry into their curricula, (iv) teaching time tabling, pedagogy and many others.
The experience is very overwhelming. It has added and increased my international exposure and added value to my administration as the Head of Department which in the long run will positively impact on our staff and students.
It is my hope that, we will continue writing proposals on this to increase the number of mobility every year. Thank you.
